Eltham Redbacks are delighted to confirm the signing of exciting young striker Muginga Mpota ahead of the 2026 season.
Mpota joins from Central Coast Mariners Academy in NPL NSW, developing his game against top flight defences week in, week out. He signs at Eltham following a successful trial, after reaching out to head coach Alan Mulcahy.
“I contacted Alan on Insta, and he replied back to me saying to come for a quick trial,” says Mpota.
“I don’t want to let any opportunities go… I guess I kind of hustled a little bit!” he laughs.
Mpota’s strong presence in the box and attacking flair adds a new dimension to the Redbacks’ front line.
“Hearing that you boys have been promoted two years in a row… I’m aiming to make it three years in a row. I’m really excited about that.”
Mpota joins Yusuf Karadag, Finn Diamond, Liam Wolstenholme, Mehmet Uysal, Liam O’Connell, Josh Millar and Marcus Day among the new additions to the Redbacks squad for our upcoming VPL1 campaign.
