Eltham Redbacks FC is delighted to welcome Finn Diamond to the club ahead of the 2026 season.
The 25-year-old central defender arrives from New Zealand, where he has been a regular contributor for Western Suburbs FC.
Diamond has built solid senior experience in one of New Zealand’s most competitive regional leagues, accumulating 60 appearances and 7 goals across his senior career.
In 2025, Diamond featured in both regional and national-level competition, adding exposure to knockout and high-pressure environments.
“Mullers gave me a call, and I was locked in ever since,” he says.
“And I’ve heard good things about the club and, yeah, I’m just loving it.
“Two promotions back-to-back, it’s pretty massive. And it just shows that the club’s got some backbone and it’s just awesome that they obviously just want to keep pushing, you know?”
While his primary role is in defence, Diamond is full of surprises.
“I’ve actually had a couple of stints at striker – I’m not sure if Mullers knows about those!” he laughs.
“But I’m a centre back by trade. Strong in the air, physical presence in the back, loud voice.
“Just win tackles, win headers, and when I get on the ball, I want to try and be composed as I can, you know?”
Diamond joins Liam Wolstenholme, Mehmet Uysal, Liam O’Connell, Josh Millar and Marcus Day among the new additions to Alan Mulcahy’s squad for our upcoming VPL1 campaign.
