The Eltham Redbacks are excited to announce the signing of dynamic winger Izzy Berks ahead of the 2026 VPLW campaign.

Originally from England, Izzy relocated to Australia in 2022 to sign for Sunshine Coast Wanderers in NPL QLD, before moving down to Melbourne and joining Bundoora United.

Berks follows head coach Jonathan Barrientos and several of her former teammates to the Redbacks this season.

“I loved working under JB, who’s a really good, passionate coach,” she says.

“I love his goals. It brings passion to the girls, so when he signed here, I came and followed him.”

A pacey left winger with an eye for goal, Izzy loves to take on defenders, take shots from distance, and crash in at the back post to score or tee up her teammates.

She netted 12 goals for Bundoora last season, finishing as the club’s top scorer.

Berks says that despite the raft of incoming signings, there’s already a great level of cohesion in the group.

“We knew a few of the Eltham girls as well because they previously played for Bundoora, so it’s a nice close-knit team.

“We’ve had a really good pre-season, definitely worked hard over the Christmas period, and we’ve shaped into a good team.

Berks joins Ally Giovino, Stephanie Katiforis, Taylor Halabi, Aleena Gutzsmit, Aimie Adcock, Claudia Dimasi and Alessia Napolitano among the new arrivals at The Web this season.
