Eltham Redbacks are thrilled to announce that VPLW-winning captain Taylor Halabi has re-signed with the club ahead of our inaugural season in NPLW Victoria.
The experienced midfielder brought her quality and leadership to Eltham North Reserve last year when she joined Jonathan Barrientos in making the move over from Bundoora United. She scored three goals in 2026, including the second in the 3-0 win over Clifton Hill on the final day of the season to secure the league crown.
Now, Halabi is set to lead the team into the top division of Victorian football and mark her own personal return to NPLW in the process having last played in NPLW with Preston Lions in 2023, having also lifted the VPLW title the season previous.
With Barrientos locked in for his debut NPLW season as a head coach, Halabi becomes the second player from the historic 2026 campaign to re-commit for next year following top scorer and VPLW Players’ Player of the Year winner Izzy Berks.
With more re-signings and new signings to come, the Redbacks women will be gearing up for the start of pre-season training over the summer before heading full throttle into NPLW campaign, looking to prove themselves against the state’s best.
