The Eltham Redbacks are delighted to announce the signing of American forward Ally Giovino ahead of the 2026 VPLW campaign.
A close friend and former teammate of Redbacks star Paige Foa, Giovino arrives in Australia after completing her college career at Colgate University.
“Paige brought me over here and helped me get in contact with this amazing community at Eltham Redbacks,” says Giovino.
“I’m so excited to play with my best friend.
“Hopefully we can combine together and be a dynamic force up top.”
A pacey and versatile forward, Giovino bolsters the attacking options available to coach Jonathan Barreiro.
“I play anywhere in the top line,” she says.
“I love to attack 1v1, get in behind the defenders, and just support my teammates anywhere I can.
“I love Eltham Redbacks already – the team is so supportive and welcoming and this community is just fantastic.
“JB is a fantastic coach and it’s just been a great start so far to the season.”
Giovino joins Stephanie Katiforis, Taylor Halabi, Aleena Gutzsmit, Aimie Adcock, Claudia Dimasi and Alessia Napolitano among the new arrivals at The Web this season.
