Eltham Redbacks are pleased to announce the re-signing of Aleena Gutszmit for the 2027 NPLW Victoria season, seeing the former Redbacks junior continue to build on her affinity with the club.
After re-joining last year from Bundoora United, this will be the second season of Guszmit’s third different spell at Eltham North Reserve.
Starting out as a Redbacks junior before moving on to FC Bulleen Lions – where she made her NPLW debut in 2022 – Gutszmit returned to play senior football for Eltham in 2023 and 2024 before spending the year away at Bundoora.
Comfortable on the ball and strong in the tackle at the back, Gutszmit started all but two league matches in 2026, becoming a major contributor to Eltham’s stunning VPLW premiership campaign.
Back in the top flight with her club this time around, the motivation and added personal meaning is there for Gutszmit as she looks to help guide Eltham to a successful top-flight campaign.
With four Redbacks stalwarts now confirmed to be returning for next year – Izzy Berks, Taylor Halabi and Alessia Napolitano the other three – and Jonathan Barrientos again at the helm, the anticipation is continuing to build at Eltham North Reserve as that NPLW Victoria debut creeps ever closer.
