The club is delighted to welcome midfielder Zoe Katiforis to our senior women’s squad for the 2026 VPLW season.
Katiforis joins the Redbacks from Box Hill United, where she was part of the NPLW Championship-winning senior squad last season, after being promoted from the U20s halfway through the campaign.
Zoe was a member of a star-studded Pythagoras squad that lifted the title, playing alongside A-League Women’s stars including Rhianna Pollicina and Sofia Sakalis.
“It was a really good experience,” she says.
“I played with quite a few A-League players, so that helped me learn and grow as a player.
“I’ve heard there’s a really good culture at Eltham.
“I’ve played NPL since I was 12, so I just wanted a local club, community feel and still really good intensity and great level.”
Katiforis’ versatility will no doubt prove invaluable to Jonathan Barrientos’ side.
“I play anywhere in the midfield, so 6, 8 or 10, don’t really mind where.
“The past few seasons I’ve been playing more as a #6, but I do like attacking and having a few shots on goal.”
The Katiforis family have two representatives in the Eltham ranks this season, with Zoe playing alongside her twin sister Stephanie.
Zoe and Stephanie join Tiana Orfanidis, Izzy Berks, Ally Giovino, Taylor Halabi, Aleena Gutzsmit, Aimie Adcock, Claudia Dimasi and Alessia Napolitano among the new arrivals at The Web this season.
