Eltham Redbacks are proud to unveil the coaching team that will lead the club’s Boys Victorian Youth Premier League 2 (BVYPL2) program into the 2026 season, a talented and united group committed to player development and long-term success.
The Redbacks’ 2026 BVYPL2 coaching line-up features:
- U13s – Joe Montagnese
- U14s – Anthony Greco
- U15s – Ben Freeman
- U16s – James Cerni
- U18s – Con Kiriakopoulos
It’s an exciting mix of experience, energy, and continuity, led by Technical Director Sam Coupland, and including our Director of Football, Joe Montagnese, who will be coaching the U13s.
The group will work closely together to deliver an exceptional experience for BVYPL2 players, ensuring a clear and connected progression through the age groups – from juniors all the way to the U20s, U23s, and senior football in the club’s VPL1 program.
Anthony Greco takes charge of the U14s after coaching the club’s U13As this year. He also works within Melbourne City’s development program, bringing a high-performance mindset and elite standards to his coaching.
Con Kiriakopoulos leads the U18s after valuable experience at Brunswick Juventus and two seasons with Essendon Royals.
Ben Freeman and James Cerni continue to build on their strong foundations at Eltham, both entering their fourth season with the club. Ben continues his excellent work with the U15s, while James returns to guide the U16s and will again serve as Assistant Coach for the U23s in 2026.
Together, this team represents the best of the Redbacks’ coaching pathway – experienced, ambitious, and passionate about helping every player reach their potential.
